You don't need a fat wallet or a supermodel body to look fabulous. In fact, looking good is about enhancing what you already got!
On this page you will learn the basic principles of looking your ultimate best. You'll also understand how these small adjustments can help you save time and money when going shopping. They're simple and you'll discover how little goes a long way.
Let's take a look at the 6 Steps to Looking Your Best:
1) Wear Your Best Colors

Unfortunately, not everybody looks good in the same colors. The wrong colors tend to dominate your whole look and sometimes mute you out.
However, the right colors enhance the beauty of your skin, eyes and hair by adding a healthy and appealing glow.
That's why you should take a seasonal color analysis. This will pinpoint you to what colors look best on you.
A basic rule of thumb when it comes to determining your perfect colors is to look at the undertone of your skin. If you have pinkish blue undertone you'll suit cooler colors like stark white, blue and black better. If you have a golden peachy undertone you'll suit warmer colors like ivory, brown and different green shades.
2) Dress Your Body Shape
Research has shown that we are attracted to proportions. So that's why an hourglass shape is said to be the most ideal body shape. There is no heavy bottom, top or middle that draws too much attention. It's visually pleasing to the eye.
Always have an hourglass in mind when putting together clothes. For example, if you have a heavy bottom, place more attention to your shoulders and chest with a cropped jacket or ruffle blouse. Or if you're a rectangle body shape, focus on creating a defined waist with a wide belt.
3) Dress Your Face Shape
Like I mentioned in my previous point, proportions please the eye. That's why an oval shape is considered to be the perfect face shape and is often a fashion stylist's dream to work with!
So your goal should be to trim down and add width to where it is needed to create a proportionate oval face shape. So if you for example have an oblong face you might want to add more width to it by wearing chunky or rounded earrings. Or if you have a round face you should wear jewelry and neckline that elongate your chin.
However, if you like your pointy chin, square a la Angelina Jolie jawline or any parts of your face that you think is unique, then by all means, enhance it!
4) Show Some Confidence
Nothing beats style with confidence. Some of the most attractive women are comfortable in their own skin and it really shows. Just take a look at their confidence in the way they smile, walk and stand.
You can also achieve this.
Find at least 5 things you like about your appearance. Have a friend help you out on this.
What do you like about your appearance? What have other people given you compliments about? Like for example your pearly white teeth along with a beautiful smile, your lips, the color of your eyes, a pair of great legs, shapely shoulder, cute nose, etc.
Now wear something that draws attention to one of those features. Stand up straight and show it off. Enhance your gorgeous legs in a short skirt or eye popping high heel shoes. Wear lipstick to enhance your lips. Or wear a pair of earrings in a color that emphasize the color of your eyes. This should give you some confidence!
5) Build a Solid Wardrobe
That means securing trend proof items that are flexible to wear with the rest of your wardrobe. They either work as a blank canvas to show off your trendy items or as style savers that tone down an overly dressy outfit.
Look at them as your the foundation of your style. If one of them is missing from your wardrobe you'll feel like you never have anything to wear or end up buying more unnecessary clothes that may be difficult to mix and match.
Examples of wardrobe essentials are:
Black v-neck t-shirtBlack turtleneck sweater Black cardigan Trench coatDiamond or cubic zirconia stud earrings6) Put Together Outfits Creatively
The best way to ensure that you'll never go out of outfit ideas is to visualize how a specific piece would look with everything else in your wardrobe.
The first thing you should do is to pull out a piece that you feel like wearing. Like for example a cute blouse. You probably like to wear it in a specific way. But we want to come up with different outfit combinations by thinking outside your comfort zone.
Like say if you always wear your cute blouse with black dress pants and pearl stud earrings. How about stretching your comfort zone by swapping up the dress pants with casual jeans? Or a high waist skirt. Other type of shoes. Other types of jewelry. You get my idea.
If you have secured all the wardrobe essentials, putting together an outfit shouldn't not be that hard.
