Female Hair Loss and What You Need to Know!

What's the difference between male and female hair? Well for starters, the gals aren't going bald like us chaps, or if they do it's the exception rather than the norm. But even so, the ladies are constantly worrying about their mop regardless. Always concerned about how it looks, is the color right, does a particular style suit them, and so on! For us poor chaps suffering from male pattern baldness, well, we would love to have such high class problems as tints and tresses.

But for some reason, there seems to be a bit of scaremongering going around of late about female baldness, and my brother-in-law, who's a local hairdresser, has asked me to quash some of these myths in a short article here on hairy hair dot com.

Ladies, listen up! Wigs and hats do not cause female hair loss unless you superglue them to you head. Frequently washing of the hair or over brushing or combing may cause hair to come out in the grooming process, but you're not going to have a bald patch because of it. There are lot's more supposed causes, most too silly to mention, but ignore them all. If your hair is going to fall out, it's going to fall out, and no daily grooming regime is going to help or hinder it.

There are genuine occasions when woman do experience female hair loss and the menopause is perhaps one of the most common causes, but don't go expecting it to happen because in most cases it just doesn't.

If you are experiencing genuine female hair loss (and I'm not taking about a few strands wrapped around the bath plug), then you may need to go and seek professional help and not just dash off to the pharmacy and buy some miracle cure out of a bottle. You have to see your doctor so that he or she can arrange for a qualified professional to look for the underlying cause, and treat it accordingly.

Female hair loss shows itself fully as a manifestation about three months after the originating cause begins, and so too will any successful prescribed product take about the same amount of time to show the effects of treatment. Unlike us men, in many cases female hair loss is just a temporary occurrence and hence, finding a hair loss solution to it is relatively easy, so don't suffer out of embarrassment and go seek help as soon as you think you have a problem. The sooner you get diagnosed the quicker you'll be back to your hair beauty products.

There are hundreds of products in the market today that promise to prevent hair loss. New hair loss treatments are coming on the market all the time, but their validity has yet to be determined. With the doctor prescribed hair loss treatments for women (recommended), the one that has had the most success is a topical solution containing 2% Minoxodil.

So, if I can just summarize by saying that if you are one of the millions of women who suffer from hair loss, the most important factor is to understand why you are losing your hair before you seek out a remedy or solution.
